Senior Engineering Technologist Position Summary This is the fourth level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification and considered the Career level for the job hierarchy within Electric Distribution Design. Senior Engineering Technologist provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently with increased latitude for unreviewed work. Accurately evaluate options, and design safe, cost effective, reliable facilities for new residential, commercial and industrial projects. This position may also design major circuitconstruction and rebuild projects across a zone or region. Due to this positions customer interaction and/or job complexity, this is one of Distributions primary face-to-face contacts with key customers (both internal and external). Responsibilities Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to Provides subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise. Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities. Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches. Conducts engineering and related studies. Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance. Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files. Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally. Coaches and mentors other Engineering Technologists. Basic/Required Qualifications Either 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 12+ years equivalent experience without a degree Desired Qualifications Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds Good written and oral communication skills Experience in the utility industry Proficient in applying principles of project management Electric Distribution Design experience Understanding of electric power industry Effective negotiating skills Effective time management skills Proficient user of programs including, but not limited to MS Office, design tools, Work Management systems, etc. Analytical skills Decision making skills Understanding of Electric Distribution materials, work procedures, policies, and work dependencies Understanding of Zero Injury Culture Specific Requirements Valid driver's license R6999

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
