Job Summary

Wright of SC has immediate openings for the position of Traffic Control Technician (TCT), in the

Greenville, Anderson, Clemson, Piedmont, Greer, Taylors, Travelers Rest, and surrounding areas.

Traffic control technicians work with construction teams to ensure that automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with or pose a danger to laborers and their projects. There are no formal education requirements for traffic control technicians; however, a high school diploma is preferred.

  • A valid driver's license is required and employees must maintain a safe driving record.

  • The TCT must pass a drug test prior to employment and maintain likewise throughout employment.

  • Must possess a cell phone with data access

  • Must maintain reliable transportation

  • Candidates must become certified in basic traffic safety techniques by attending training class provided by Wright.

  • As a TCT you must be able to work in all weather conditions and stand for long periods of time.

The TCT must create a safe work zone that ensures that traffic does not cause a threat to the workers. This involves setting up cones and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tells traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly. Traffic-control technicians must be constantly aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory. Excellent communication skills are a necessity. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds is required.

The Traffic Control Technician reports to the Operations Coordinator/Scheduler and responsibilities include:

  • Setup, maintain and remove work zones including warning signs, traffic cones and rumble strips according to ATSSA and DOT regulations.

  • Load and unload work zone equipment to and from the company vehicle.

  • Drive the company vehicle to and from job sites in a safe manner.

  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.

  • Keep company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
